Hazel's deckstention.

When I finished the ten mtr fence for Hazel last summer she
said she would have me back in the spring to extend the decking
as a new kitchen door was to be installed.

Here I've installed a chassis with 500mm centres.
Front and back I screwed two 3"x2" in a L shape
and screwed them to the existing fence and decking.
Each joist has a centre leg screwed on and wedges where needed.
All of the boards are a neat fit with literally no bounce or creaks, and the job as they say,
is a guid ane...

And finally....

Jaqui's garden makeover.

It's all overgrown through years of neglect,
but by the time I'm finished it'll be somewhere
nice for sunbathing and barbies.

  • Here I've dismantled the old rotten shed and removed
  • loads of rubbish, felled a few trees and started building the new
  • ranch style fence.

More pics to follow.

Windblown fence.

Recent high winds took down this fence in St Fillans, up by Loch Earn.
Ten hours of hard, wet, muddy toil and the job, as they say, is a guid ane...

New driveway.

As you can see, the drive is made from mud, gravel, tarmac and weeds so I get stuck in with pick and shovel and take it down about six inches.
The hired whacker plate compacts the base until it's rock hard.
Next comes a shutter made from sarking and stakes.
The Spotmix 07957450240 team arrive, and an hour or so later the concrete is poured, screeded and tamped. I went back the next day and removed the shuttering, laid a 20 year membrane at the sides and filled it with Balmullo chips.
The jobs a guide ane...
